PROUD POST ALERT !

It must be something in the air as the University offers keep rolling in for our A2 Graphics students ! So far all students who have had interviews have gained offers with Congratulations going to Tom & Lewis both being given unconditional offers for 3D design at MMU & Animation at Salford Uni. 

York St John & Huddersfield Uni have offered places on their Graphic Design degree whilst Games Design offers have been given from Salford, Future Works & Sheffield Hallam . 

Many more students are in the process of prepping portfolios for interviews with a staggering 22 interviews in the calendar over the next few week ! 

Many of the students will continue their journey here before moving to Uni & have applied to the Art foundation course at Ashton Sixth Form College .

The AS Art students will get lots of advice in the summer term when we visit the degree shows but it's never too early to think about University choices so please speak to staff if you need advice.

Congratulations to all those who have gained offers so far & good luck to those awaiting interviews.

Happy Birthday Roy !

The name Roy Batty might not mean much to some of you but its his birthday today - & not just his birthday but his actual birth day ie the day he was born / created / made etc. 

Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (released 1982) starring a relatively unknown Harrison Ford & Rutger Hauer is a classic sci fi film. If you haven't see it , please do - its a great one for the "Metropolis" brief .

Welcome back !

Welcome back - & Happy new Year !

Don't forget that students start back on January 5th . Please don't forget to bring all sketchbooks & equipment with you so you can make a start straight away. 

AS students - please hand in your completed FIRST sketchbook for marking & then continue to work through your SECOND sketchbook with the new major project - Metropolis. Remember that your homework was to take a set of 30 photos on the theme so that you can use these in the artists we will be looking at. 

A2s will be beginning their final pieces for Unit 3 as soon as we are back so ensure that all prep work is done & evidenced. 

We have some exciting enrichment sessions starting in Jan - Life drawing will start again & there will be a chance to work through the Arts Award also. ( a great qualification & asset to your UCAS application or CV ). Details will be posted soon. 

Also on Jan 13th there will be an opportunity to attend & take part in a Holocaust Art work shop - as part of your A 'level OR Arts Award - but maybe simply to learn more about the subject. Details will be given in lessons this week. 

Good luck with any exams you may have coming up - please remember that all lessons continue as normal & you should make up time for any missed due to exams .
