A gentle reminder that the deadline for final pieces is this friday , 24th Jan
Please use all your independent time wisely !

Please show all progress in your sketchbook & allow time to get pieces insitu & printed. (see below..)

WHAT THE EXAM BOARD SAY :
  • AO4  Presentation of creative responses that are essentially personal, effectively realise stated intentions and fulfil design requirements.
  •  Explicit connections made, where appropriate, between the different elements of the submission, including contextual, practical and written responses, presenting work that is meaningful, well informed and in an order which can be easily followed.
  • Consideration of different presentational formats, such as public transport advertising or bus shelter posters, selecting the most appropriate of these for the submission, giving due regard to the purpose of the work and how it might engage the interest of an audience or potential clients.
  • If the print size or cost of a preferred format is a constraint, then this could be drawn, described and/or presented as a scale model. (photoshop)
Design boards should be made using photoshop (check resolution is 300dpi ) & taken to print via the Print room - the cost is around £8 for an A2 size. (Bursary students may get this funded)

You have limited time left this term - BUT - you have produced great work so far; make the most of your study periods & work on your sketchbook each day to keep up. If you are getting overwhelmed , pop up to IL , they are happy to help !

By Tues' lesson you need to have completed the practical work on Artist 2 along with an evaluation of the work so far. Remember that these do not have to be final pieces but should be refined & developed with the journey well documented.

Tues - we will be working on Statements of intent & introducing the next stage of the project.

This week is a crucial one as you will need to work fast to produce practical work based on Artist 2 . Make the most of your frees & study day (as I am updating the blog on Monday at 10.25am, only 1 A2 is in for study day !!) .

Friday's lessons will be a workshop on Creative thinking lead by Kevin Darnton of UCLAN  Advertising course - details in lessons .

The following week , you will be starting to think about the brief that you will devise to carry you through to a final piece

Its almost half term !

All work on Artist one must be complete - a formal assessment will begin this week & conclude  after Half term. Over half term, please ensure that you do any research that you feel will help further your work (Visits, primary sources, planning , layouts, drawings ) .

EEK BEG  OCT 7th

ARE YOU UP TO DATE ? (artist 1 must be completed inc evaluation by start of Tues lesson)
Please use your frees & study days well.

You can then write an evaluation of Artist 1 using the link to the document here :
Evaluation your work - document link. At least 500 - 750 words typed.

ALSO : Please check the assignment on Canvas & add an image (or 2) of your Artist #2 work along with their name so that I can check you are all on the right lines.
Begin to research for the next stage will be to produce 2 x A3 pages of context & general analysis of this artist as we did for Artist 1.

Where are we up to ?

There has been some great practical work going on this week - from screen-printing and photography to collage and tying balloons in elastic bands !
All this is great for AO2 (creative making) - make sure you are still making notes about your progress and ideas. REMEMBER that this stage is about exploration of ideas & techniques - NOT final pieces.
Make sure you PLAN out composition layouts / typography/ colours / media experiments / photoshoots (with contact strips) and annotate to show your ideas and thoughts.
We will be continuing this great work next week - IF you haven't started practical work by now then you are behind ...make sure you catch up this weekend (College is closed Monday) .

Week beg Monday 23rd Sept
